can’t tell anyone i like cars / motor racing related stuff etc cause i am the stereotype that everyone use for women about them liking it.

but so what i enjoy liking it i think the drivers in f1 are cool , i love looking at old races , i like cool looking cars even if ik zero things about it & yes i do fan girl over the drivers LET ME LIVE.

Abbi Pulling did not know the motor sport career she is enjoying — and excelling in, as the first female British Formula 4 race winner — was even a possibility when she was growing up. She thought go-karts were the extent of her racing opportunities.

“I didn’t actually have a clue,” the 21-year-old from Spalding in Lincolnshire says. “I thought that was it. It was only when I was a bit older, matured a bit more, probably at 12 or 13, when I realised there’s more to motor sport than just go-karts and motorbikes.

“When I started winning championships — at 15 years old I won the British [karting] championship — that was when I was like, ‘Oh what’s the next thing I can do?’ I just wanted to do it forever.”

Pulling has had the racing bug since she was three, attending a paddock for the first time alongside her father, Andy, who raced motorbikes. She began her own racing journey in go-karting at eight years old.

The F4 British Championship is largely based in the United Kingdom, as the name suggests, but will race for the first time in the Netherlands in July. It features 22 drivers from eight teams. It is aimed as a stepping stone from karting and Pulling is one of the elder drivers on the grid. She is seventh in the overall standings, the highest-placed female driver (out of four). Lando Norris, the McLaren Formula 1 driver who won the most recent Grand Prix in Miami, won an F4 title in 2015.

Her back-to-back victories, first in the F1 Academy — the all-female series founded by Formula 1 — in Miami and then in F4 at Brands Hatch last weekend, came after her career was almost ended in September 2021. In an emotional post on Instagram, Pulling described being “absolutely heartbroken” to withdraw from the F4 championship due to a lack of funding.

“When I was previously in British F4 I was getting what I would say were fair results, beating the boys, getting podiums, then I ran out of funding, unfortunately,” she says. “That put things into perspective, a lot. I was even more grateful for any opportunities.

“I grew from it and I learnt from it. It was an absolutely awful feeling, to be honest, but then I got an opportunity in the W Series. I put it in perspective — If I were a guy, I wouldn’t have had that; it would have been the end of the line.

For Pulling, the focus is on balancing F1 Academy and F4 for the remainder of the season.

“Any driver in my position wants to say that they want to go to Formula 1, but I’m not keeping my options closed,” she says. “I want to take any opportunities. The prize for winning F1 Academy is a funded seat for 2025 so that is obviously what I’ll be aiming for.”

I don't know much about MotoGP. My knowledge in motorsport starts with f1 and ends with its feeder series. However I do know Valentino Rossi, I know that he's lesbian coded and that he and Marc Marquez had a messy divorce. I also know that the sport is basically Spain and Italy. That's it. UNTIL today when I honestly don't know what came over me, I was doing my homework sketches for anatomy class when suddenly I have the unstoppable urge to look up Marc Marquez on tumblr dot com and here's the info I gathered:

I genuinely think drivers should start ignoring team orders or teams should just stfu

cuz max verstappen is not what's making the sport boring yk what does? Stupid team orders if a driver is not fast enough to overtake his teammate then he shouldn't pass if the only reason a driver out qualified his teammate is team orders then he didn't actually out qualify him

team orders of holding position is what's holding us back from having actual racing and fun battles for example (multi 21 seb) if Sebastian vettel didn't fight back and overtook Mark Webber we wouldn't have one of the most iconic battles and rively in f1 and that's what made the lewis Hamilton nico Roseburg era actually interesting insane rively and actually fun on track battles .

Happy Birthday Scottish rally driver Jimmy McRae born 28th October 1943.

He might be most well known as father to the late Colin McRae but regardless of his sons’ subsequent success, Jimmy McRae remains the most successful British Rally Championship competitor of all time – bar none.

Jimmy won the British Rally Championship title five times in 1981, 1982, 1984, 1987 and 1988 which as of 2020 still stands. In the European Rally Championship for drivers, he was runner-up in 1982, while his highest placing in the World Rally Championship was fifteenth in 1983.

Jimmy McRae was born in Lanark, where he developed a plumbing business and started to race relatively late, at the age of 31. His first rally cars in 1974 were Ford Cortina MkI and Ford Escort MkI, before he switched to Vauxhall Magnum Coupe in 1975.

He and his wife Margaret had three sons, Colin, Alister and Stuart. Both Colin and Alister McRae were World Rally Championship drivers. McRae’s brother-in-law Hugh “Shug” Steele is also a former rally driver.

The 2022 annual McRae Rally Challenge first ran, in honour of Jimmy’s son Colin, back in 2015 saw three generations of the McRae dynasty race, which must be a first, Jimmy’s grandson, Max, the 18 year old beat his dad, Alistair, 51 and grandfather Jimmy,.

Are we about to see another McRae light up the world of motor racing, proung grandad Jimmy says; “ he’s proving to be very successful and just driving to his ability,”

“He’s had one or two wee problems and sometimes when you have a problem you can get overexcited and try too much on the next stage but he seems to just drive at his speed, so I’m very, very proud of him.”

I want to find someone who is as insane about me as Vale is about Marc. I want to find someone who thinks about me as much as Vale thinks about Marc. I want to find someone who will tie their entire career and life to me the way Vale does to Marc. If you take away the hatred aspect of their relationship, it’s the most goddamn romantic thing in the world. It’s been 10 years and Vale and Marc still go hand in hand. Valentino Rossi you say you hate him but you tie yourself to him forever when you open you mouth and spew this stuff from your crazy little brain. I rarely see anyone mention Vale without mentioning Marc. And yes, part of that has to do with them being two of the best drivers in MotoGP history. But a majority of it is because Marc haunts Vale, and he refuses to let anyone forget that. So we get peeks into his head, and as the years go on, as Marc mentions Vale in the press less and less, as the academy boys start to become cordial with the man they were taught to hate, and Marc creeps closer to matching or surpassing Vale’s record, it just makes it so clear that Vale doesnt just hate Marc.

I’m new to the MotoGP fandom so honestly I feel like I have an outsiders perspective on those two. I think everyone forgets how completely insane it is. I have never seen rivals in sports act like Vale acts. And I’ve been into sports for years (NASCAR, f1, hockey, football). Most rivals hate each other while they compete, then either become friends when they retire or forget about it and move on with their lives. The way Vale acts about Marc is so bizarre. Even if all of the stuff he says is true, even if Marc is as evil as Vale says (which to be clear I don’t think he is) his obsession with Marc and what happened is so intense. It’s just baffles me. I want to remove his brain and study it for science. Oh to be hated and obsessed over by Valentino Rossi. More romantic than anything I’ve ever seen.
